I'm grateful for the positive reviews for Home Remodeling and Design.  Those reviews that led us to contact them regarding our bathroom refresh and here's to this review has the same effect.

The work we were looking for was to replace tub, shower, and sink hardware, replace faulty shower doors, and create an access panel for the tub/shower pipes in an adjacent room.

Jesse listened to our requirements and provided options that fit them.  He was thorough and communicated clearly from the site survey, to discussing the quote, from reviewing the scope of work and schedule, to the follow up after the work was complete.

HRD staff was respectful of our property and performed quality work.  The team that put down the flooring protection did such a great job - the materials survived our foot (and paw) traffic over the couple days before the work started and kept the floors protected throughout the work.

The team that performed the work - Ricardo and Dylan - were fantastic.  They were friendly and polite, kept us up to date on the work and timeline for the day, and ensured we were well informed when we needed to make a couple cosmetic choices.

Once the work completed the HRD team cleaned up nicely and it was like they were never there.  Except for the shiny new hardware they just installed.

HRD just finished up an installation of a walk in shower for my 106 year old grandmother.  What an incredible job they did.  Jesse was the easiest individual to deal with...straight forward, honest, knowledgeable, and detail orientated.  The HRD warehouse, demo, construction, and cleanup crews were top notch.  The project went just as planned and when completed you would not have known they were even there. We had our bathroom completely remodeled. We couldn’t be happier with the results. Tomasz, Roberto, Rich, Jesse and crew did a fantastic job. We appreciated that they came in before the job started and covered everything in plastic. They involved us every step of the way with any decisions that needed to be made and Tomasz helped us make the perfect design choices. They finished the job in a little over two weeks. The project took less time than expected, especially since additional work was requested during the project.

There are only great things to say about ALL the people representing HRD, all were very professional, knowledgeable and very polite.  They were aways on time and very clean.  In fact, they left it better than it was.

We had a load bearing wall removed between the kitchen and dining room to open it up.  Since the ceiling was going to be open where the wall and existing cabinet and soffit were removed, we had them remove the textured ceiling and install recessed lighting throughout the entire space along with some new cabinets, a new microwave/range hood and new ductwork to vent it outside.

These guys are pros!  From the first meeting with Jesse, explaining the entire process from design and drawing plans suitable for submission to the Building Department and the entire crew each day headed up by Tomasz.  Always working very clean, even when sanding down the existing textured ceiling.  All doorways and access to other parts of the house were sealed off.  Patching the existing hardwood floor where the wall came down, you can't see where the old wall was!  Electrical and HVAC vents had to be removed or relocated.  Everything was done professionally, even bringing in a porta-potty for the crew while the job was in progress!

While the cost was more that I initially intended to spend, the results justified the cost based on the workmanship and professionalism of this team.

We hired HRD after meeting with a couple of different companies. The design process was collaborative as was the entire build. We never felt like we couldn’t ask something or couldn’t request something. That’s a rare thing to find in a building company. They never left to go to another job. They stayed through throughout the entire build until the project was completed which was very important to us. We worked with HRD on our home remodel, which included taking down walls, a complete kitchen remodel, new flooring, and HVAC.

The initial conversations with Jesse and Keith were quick, efficient, and honest about what was possible in our budget. From there, Dave did an exceptional job bringing our vision to life in the design process while Susan kept the ordering process easy and clear.

Once onsite, their crew treated us, our dogs, and entire home with respect. They did an exceptional job keeping everything clean and were always sure to create as little distraction as possible. This was incredibly important as we both work from home.

Tomasz’s attention to detail, craftsmanship, and care are unmatched. Anytime a question came up, he and the HRD team did a great job explaining to us the issue and providing a professional opinion on the route to take while allowing us to make the final call.

The team was able to complete the work within our quoted timeline of six to eight weeks thanks to the timeliness and efficiency of the whole team including Aaron, Dylan, Hugo, and Vaughn.

The sub-contracted teams they brought in to do the electrical (Gerry) and plumbing maintained the same level of care, professionalism, and work standards as the HRD team.

Sadly this was another case of horrible service.
I got a call today about a kitchen quote and the employee never came out to my place or looked at my kitchen but somehow quoted me 15k-20k as the price.
I have multiple contractors that have actually looked at the job in person and quoted me 6k for the same exact job.
Obviously Handyworks is just trying to over charge customers to line their pockets.

Edit: you can try to save face but I wanted full cabinet replacement and you quoted me a price 3 times as high as the next contractor without even looking at the job or measuring.
